Going back to my childhood of learning old-fashioned customer service from Mom & Pop, and, my lifetime of seeking better ways to please clients, I live my professional life to my own higher code of ethics. Here’s some of the everyday courtesies and work habits you can expect from me...

1. I will be pleasant and cheerful to work with. I love what I do and I feel some sympathy for all the grouchy people you and I come across who are in a customer service field.

2. I’ll promptly return your phone calls and emails. Does it drive you nuts too when you leave a message for a businessperson and they never get back to you?

3. I’ll respect your time and be on time. My parents taught me the saying, “Five minutes early is on time, on time is five minutes late and five minutes late is unacceptable.”

4. I’ll say what I mean and I’ll do what I say. I won’t make empty promises to you. If I tell you something will get done... It’ll get done or I better have a darn good explanation why it didn’t!

5. I’ll stay in touch and keep you informed. Isn’t it frustrating when you don’t know what’s going on, what progress has been made or you just simply rarely hear from the person you’re working with?

6. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll tell you so, and then... I’ll find the answer for you. Another annoyance I have, and you probably do too, are businesspeople who feel they have to make up an answer rather than have the courage to honestly tell you they don’t know.

7. I will work ethically and legally. I’m proud to be an active member of the National Association of Realtors ( of which not all agents belong to) and I follow their strict Code of Ethics. I included the full version of this code if you’re interested, and I imagine this is also something else you won’t find other real estate professionals sharing with you!

8. I will always strive to do more than is expected of me. I believe in common courtesy, acts of kindness and I see red when I hear real estate agents saying “that’s not my job.” I do what needs to get done and I’ll do whatever I am able to please you, my client.


Am I perfect? Naw... My wife will give me a hard time whenever I forget to take out the trash and my kids will be mortified when I do something goofy enough to embarrass them while at the mall! We all make errors from time to time but my promise to you is to work hard and focus on doing the best possible job I can day in and day out for you.
